Brownheaded Storkbilled Kingfisher

I had posted this picture as my profile picture and one of my facebook ‘friends’ Mr.Pushkaraj Apte was kind enough to let me know the name of the bird that had been spotted by us, in our home in Curtorim. This was a young bird, just learning to fly actually, so a bit unsure, as the remaining pictures show us, in case I am able to share them here.

Don’t get me wrong, I know how to fly. Am just thinking which way to go.

This gives away the age, as it estimates its height from the ground
